This sentence follows many of us highly sensitive people during our whole life.
When I started talking about this topic, I was surprised how many men reported that they feel pressure from society to NOT show their own sensitivity.
Outdated values like being invulnerable and unemotional still seem to be unspoken social norms.
It took me almost my whole life to understand that being highly sensitive is a gift. And everybody who has this characteristic – independent of gender - should feel welcome to freely share this quality with the world.
Increased emotional intelligence, creativity, and joy of sensory experience are just a few strengths to be named.
